Readings In Restaurants

What is R in R?

Readings in Restaurants gives playwrights a chance to provide script-in-hand readings of entire scripts to an audience in a restaurant. The scripts are read by actors, who will have rehearsed the play with a director two or three times. The readings are followed by a discussion with audience members , who are asked to tell the playwright what did and did not work for them.

Any member may have work read at Readings in Restaurants. The only requirement is that the playwright is actively working on the script and thinks the play has been developed to the point that it can profit from being read before an audience. Members interested in scheduling a reading should contact Donald Drake at dondrake@belltatlantic.net. Though the plays of all PDC members will be done, for scheduling purposes preference will be given to playwrights who make RinR a success by regularly attending readings.
